Steakout Meathouse - Tooting, London
I chose this place to visit with my bestfriend on the occasion of Eid ul Fitr. We wanted to enjoy some great food on this special day and I cannot begin to explain how disappointed we were. Upon entry of the restaurant, we were greeted by a friendly waiter, who guided us to our table - standard.
The table which we reserved was in fact unclean and we had to wait for someone to deal with it. Once we had sat down and ordered our food, it was brought to our attention that the mojitos we requested were in fact out of stock for that day. Nonetheless we continued on and found ourselves drinking regular soft drinks - not what we came for!
After waiting a huge sum of time for our food to arrive, I was feeling both a mixture of relief and anger to see that a waiter was finally on his way with our meals. Now at this point, I would say that the restaurant as a whole was disorganized, but still I hung in there and tried to carry a glimpse of optimism. For the first few minutes of indulging into the meal, I was overwhelmed with joy, but I'd later come to understand that these initial bites were deceptive, simply because I'd waited so long to eat!
Now I don't mean to make the food sound disgusting, but if I am paying a certain price for a burger, I expect a certain level of quality with it. The meat was dry and hard, and was so difficult to get down my throat - if I wasn't deprived of my mojito, I'm sure the experience would've been much more pleasant. However, I must mention that the skin on chips were quite tasty.
I have heard that the branch we went to was not of a high standard, and so therefore I will soon be trying out a different branch of this restaurant. For now, my opinion of Steakout will remain.
