Hey guys!
As I'm sure I've mentioned on a previous post, I have blackheads on my nose, which is pretty common. And for the longest time in the world, I thought this was ugly and I could do nothing about it. After discovering various different brands of pore strips (and crying my way to a cleaner, more appealing nose), I had come to the conclusion that I would just have to deal with it, mope about and well, hate my nose. Of course for a while I would use my blackhead removal home-made remedy, but I wanted something that was new for me to try and test out.
After stumbling upon the My Scheming Mask set, which I purchased from Amazon, I definitely considered giving it a go. I bought mine for just under £12, which seems like an absolute bargain for the way it works!
I've been using this product for a couple of months now, once a week and I can really see great results- getting even better after every use. The purpose of the mask is to penetrate deeply into the skin in order to dissolve oil and dirt that clogs up pores. It works well for both acne and blackheads (I have tried it for both but I prefer to just use for blackheads as my skin is too sensitive when I have acne).

So, first remove any makeup or residue that may be on the face. I use my Garnier Miceller Water on a flat cotton pad to do this step. Once this is done, I then create a soapy lather with my Dove beauty bar and some warm water, which I use to rub on the area I am going to be applying the mask on (in most cases this is my nose). Of course, you could use any soap that you wish, but I feel that this bar really cleanses and moisturises my skin.

I then begin by using the first product in the 3-step process, which is a watery substance that is in a small bottle called the ' Deep Pore Sebum Softener'. On the instructions that come with the product, it says to rub this on the area for about 1 minute - I usually pour some on my index finger and massage it into the skin. Next, I go back in with my soapy lather and wash it all off. This step is to remove all of the dead skin cells and further assist the mask to dig deep into the pores.
I make sure that my skin is dry, before applying the carbon mask to it. I feel that the easiest way to apply the mask is to squeeze some onto my index or middle finger and put it on [my nose]. As you can see from the first photo, I apply the mask around my nose too, but wherever you feel your blackheads are most, make sure you focus the application there. I use roughly 2 to 3 layers of carbon mask as I feel it works better than just 1, but of course with trial and error you will figure out what may work best for you.
I leave this on for about 20-30 minutes and try to not move my face around too much.

When the carbon mask is fully dry, I begin to peel it upwards. The one thing I love about this mask is that it doesn't sting or hurt when I'm removing it, unlike pore strips. Also, I don't have to go through the trouble of ripping or tearing it off my face, I can simply just pull it to my comfort. Once the mask has fully been removed, I use the 3rd and final step in the process, which is similar to the first small bottle, called the 'Skin Clarifying Pore Treatment Essence'. I pat this onto the area that I applied the mask to and it definitely tightens the pores and calms the skin. Sometimes I do skip this step though, as I don't feel it's always necessary, and instead I use a warm soapy lather again. Once this is all completed, I wash the area with rose-water and leave this to air dry.
I know this is a really long and detailed blog post but I'm glad you've made it to the end! I hope this does help you (guys and girls) and definitely let me know how your experience with My Scheming Mask goes.
