After a long day of Oxford Street shopping, myself and my bestfriend were tired and hungry, and found ourselves in Aldgate. We quickly asked siri for directions to the nearest Mediterranean restaurant, and it didn't take long for us to push ourselves to Zengi. We entered and it was quite empty (unusual at the time of 5 pm) but as the evening began, it did start to get more busy. We were welcomed in, seated at a comfortable area of our choice and given a menu to begin ordering. The whole process didn't drag on and I really can't find any fault in their customer service. There was a strong Mediterranean feel to the whole atmosphere which I really loved.
Our starters consisted of mixed olives and Hummus with bread, which once again I could not fault. The hummus was a perfect consistency, freshly made and really reminded me of back home.

Shortly after, our food arrived. We ordered the Zengi mixed grill- which consisted of chicken, lamb and kofta with a side order of rice and salad- and a chicken tagine, that sat on a bed of couscous. The restaurant was a very nostalgic experience for me, and the food was definitely one of my favourites by far.
The only thing I would fault is the lack of choice with non-alcoholic beverages, so I had to get a carton of Rubicon Mango (nothing wrong with that, but I would have preferred a mojito for that price).
